We are looking for
highly experienced Transportation professionals who are well versed in
their particular field of Logistics who are good
communicators and can volunteer occasional time to sharing their
knowledge with the Houston Logistics Community.
Their are three basic
areas where your specific expertise may bring front line value to our
organization.
- Panel or
Individual Speaker at a Lunch & Learn
- Panel or Individual
Speaker at a Seminar
- Panel or
Individual Speaker at a Workshop
If you wish to submit
yourself as a potential resource to our 500 member base, please
supply us with your Curriculum
Vitae (summary of your academic and
work history) and your specific areas of speaking interest along
with your full contact details.
If selected as a
prime resource, we will place you on our current list of Industry
Experts and as a topic related to your specific area of experience is to
be discussed, we will contact you and request your consideration of the
topic, venue, and date of the event in question. You may accept or
decline at your discretion. The opportunity to address our members
may be several during the year and you are held at no obligation
to maintain one or any of these events.

Lunch & Learn Meetings
are typically held once a month on the first Wednesday and at the
Greenspoint Club from 11:00 to 1:00. The Speaker or Panel has only
approx. 30 of speaking time and 10 min max of questions and answers.
Power point presentations and handouts are encouraged but not mandatory.
These are somewhat informal in nature.
Seminars are typically
are posted on our calendar at varying times of the year, our goal is to
have a min. of 3 a year. Seminars are conducted with panel
speakers, or various individuals responsible for various time blocks.
They are full day events including continental breakfast and lunch and
all day beverage service. They include ppt and handouts as
mandatory items and are of a more formal format that provide the
attendees with the latest topic information and key elements that are
need to be covered at some depth within this realm. Speakers are
always non paid and volunteers. Seminar Revenue will contribute to
the Scholarships to be awarded to our annual recipients. The
Scholarship will be a 'named scholarship' presented to the individual(s)
(made payable to their college only) in the Speakers company name.
Workshops are set
throughout the year with a minimum of 2 per year. They are intended to
be 'working' events where the attendees are actually required to
participate in the activities and discussions that encourage an active
roll in the learning process. They are usually addressing specific
needs and questions of the attendees. The topics will be covered
in depth and suited to the attendees input and questions.
Workshops are conducted
with panel speakers, or various individuals responsible for various time
blocks. The public pre-scheduled workshops will be held at the
Greenspoint club, but they may also be offered by request to corporate
members requiring employee training (with a minimum no. of employees) as
a private function either at their facility or at the Greenspoint Club.
If held at the club, they include continental breakfast and lunch
and all day beverage service.
